15-2 barrel shroud bluing
2 Attachment(s)
I have been away from the forum for a long time due to retiring, selling one home, finding and buying another and the pain of moving after 30 years in one place. My firearms were all stashed with a relative while our house was being shown by realtors and then until we were somewhat resettled.
I reclaimed the last batch recently, including my DW 15-2 wheel gun. It turns out I should have, but didn't, place the extra shrouds into silicon socks before putting the whole attache' case with all the parts into storage. The foam rubber stuff apparently wicked some moisture and there is a rust mark on the 8 inch barrel shroud. See attached photos. Since the remainder of the set is original and pristine, I want to get it fixed and reblued to match. I know it isn't something I will attempt myself. Can any of the group here help me to find a quality craftsman who can bring the shroud back to its original beauty? Many thanks in advance Jack |
Well, that stinks ! :(
Good ole Dave Waits posted this in May 2011: Blueridge Bluing. BTW, mark, the guy who runs Blueridge Bluing is the guy who originally did all the Bluing for Dan Wesson. http://www.blueridgegunparts.com/index.html Hope this helps you out, good luck, keep us posted. |

Well - that didn't work so any other leads would be appreciated. I knew that was too good to be true. Here's the response from Blue Ridge Gun Parts:
"Blue Ridge Collectibles is closed until further notice. This mail box will NOT be monitored. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you." |
The marks appear to be small.
They could be rust blued and blended with the existing bluing. |

From Blue Ridge - FYI:
"Shop is closed, my husband,Phil has passed away" |
