I am half expecting Castro to appear on TV later today denounicing his death as an imperialist plot.

I'm going to need some time to mourn the loss of such a great leader....................ok, I'm over it. Moving on.

About damn time.

A guy on Facebook was claiming that the USA didn't like Castro because he took away their influence over Cuba. I pointed out that the USA didn't like him because he murdered people just because they owned land and businesses that he wanted.

Bingo.

One of my best friends growing up was Cuban. He was also my best man at my wedding.
When I enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school his comment to me was o the effect of why would I join the same government that's here to oppress us. Mind you this was during the Reagan era.
When I became a cop he slowly distanced himself from me.
He was born in Cuba. His family were well to do there when Fidel Castro came in and took everything from them. He was too young to remember it, but I'm sure his parents told him stories. Stories I also heard from other Cubans. All of the ones I've ever met hated him.
So, I never understood why he thought we were even close to being oppressive like him.
Anyway, may the bastard rot in hell!
