classic, buck knives have been around forever and are just great! Nice one!

AutoMag 07-12-2014 02:32 PM

Clyde, I have been looking all over for that exact knife!!!! Where did you order it from?:)

Sheepdog 07-12-2014 02:56 PM

Nice Chief.

BadOscar 07-12-2014 09:25 PM

Nice Buck Clyde. I wish auto's were legal in Maine. I still have the Buck you gave me. They replaced the blade for free after I broke it. I'm going to try not to use the new one as a screw driver.

Beautiful knife Sir. Did not know they made an auti version....whats the model number?

AutoMag 07-12-2014 10:30 PM

Caleb, it is a Buck 110 and the conversion is not done by Buck but by another company.

Thanks....cool.

Auto.... illegal in Konnecticut. Another reason I'm moving to Tennessee!

Nice knife. One day I'll be able to buy one. CT is going to move towards banning points on any knife. The reasoning is that it follows the United Kingdom model of protecting its citizens. Future knives sold in CT will likely NOT have points like this Buck, but rather have rounded tips that cannot be used for stabbing.

Padre, that's about the dumbest thing I've ever heard!
Is there a ban on sharp sticks too?
What about claw hammers? Are they going to have to be padded?

Have they banned cars, swimming pools and ladders yet?

:banghead:

Riverpigusmc 07-13-2014 09:56 AM

I like it. I have lots of autos, but none that look like a classic pocket knife

milkmanjoe 07-13-2014 10:45 AM

ColMike 07-16-2014 07:34 AM

very nice

Sheepdog 07-16-2014 09:49 AM

Illegal in TX too. If you can believe it so are Bowie knives.

edgehill 07-16-2014 10:01 AM

Bowie knives are banned in a lot of the South because of the Dueling Trees in New Orleans and the knife fighting that came from there and traveled up the River.

In both Mississippi and Alabama if the knife is named Bowie it is illegal to carry. No descriptions just call it a Bowie and it's illegal.

Reading the TX law now list it and daggers. There used to be a description but not anymore.

They are doing that to make it vaguer so they don't have to keep up with changing knives.

NAMVET72 07-16-2014 12:58 PM

I can hear the Prosecutor say......
"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet" is a quotation from William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet. The thought conveyed is that in changing the name of a rose to something else will not change its scent, look or essential character.

It is still a Bowie knife. Probably case law of similar knives would trump the name.

edgehill 07-16-2014 01:53 PM

I think a legal argument could be made that if it's not called Bowie and the state doesn't have a legal description of what a Bowie is then you might be able to argue your way put of it. But I'm no lawyer so my take has been when I'm in states like I am now (visiting Mississippi) that outlaw Bowies by name that I leave them at home and bring my camp knives.

I don't want to be a trial case.

NAMVET72 07-16-2014 01:56 PM

Why do you need more then more then one knife to camp with? OMG I forgot you pick you teeth with one and clean your toe nails with the other one,:eek::eek::eek::eek::D

Yes, even I can be a SA,

From: http://www.knifeup.com/mississippi-knife-laws/

"It is legal to own any knife in Mississippi, unless you are a minor or have been convicted of a felony. Minors and felons may not own bowie, dirk, butcher, or switchblade knifes. You can open carry any knife in Mississippi. You may not conceal carry any bowie, dirk, butcher, of switchblade knife, unless it is concealed in your vehicle and not on your person, or you are fishing, hunting, or participating in some sporting activity in which it is common to use that type of knife."

edgehill 07-16-2014 04:29 PM

Here is my

That still prevents me from carrying a Bowie for self defense.

Edit: Unless I open carried.

NAMVET72 07-16-2014 06:32 PM

Will be posting pics of all my new blades soon as the last one comes in,

Clyde
