Glad to be Here

Hi from sunny North central Florida. I moved here 30 years ago from Wisconsin. I’ve never missed shoveling snow. :(

I had no idea this forum existed until one of the members pointed me to it. I am the proud owner of a Dan Wesson Guardian in 9mm. It is definitely the nicest of the half-dozen 1911’s I currently or have owned. :) I use it primarily for carry in either a TT GunLeather Mike’s Special or a N82 Tactical IWB holster.

I retired about a year ago which has freed up a lot more time for my favorite hobby. I am an avid completion shooter typically shooting three USPSA, Steel Challenge or 3-Gun matches a month. My primary USPSA competition pistols are a trio of 2011 Brazos Pro SX 38 Super blasters built on an STI frame. I shoot Open in the other two disciplines as well.

I’m happy I found this community and look forward to participating.

Thanks all for the warm welcome.

Xbonz, 98 miles east of Gainesville is about 40 miles out in the Atlantic. Are you living on a houseboat, submarine or your own private island?

Yes, for the last 8 years or so. How about you? Maybe we could get together and throw a few rounds down range.

Riverpigusmc 07-09-2014 04:30 PM

I need to renew my membership...I shoot on the "C" range, so when I get current, we'll make plans

Paladin1 07-09-2014 05:12 PM

I'm there almost every Monday and Friday at 8:00 practicing on C. We have a group of retired guys that plink and then go out to lunch both of those days. We're always looking for another guy to listen to our lame jokes.

Let me know if you want to join us on Friday. I have plenty of guest passes from the previous regime.

Hodawg 07-09-2014 05:23 PM

Hey Paladin! I was wondering what ever happened of you. Welcome to the good place.

Cheers Hoss,
Ken

They changed hands? Prolly why I didn't get a bill to renew....I've shot there on friday mornings before, but have to schedule a day off to do it

Yes, the new owner took over a few years ago from the original owner. The range has seen many improvements including training bays and a full service gun shop on site. There are matches or training programs both days of every weekend throughout a month. Take a look at their web site if you haven't had a chance recently.
