Bump in the night belt?

What is the solution for a bump in the night if you jump up from sleeping and may need to take action. I've bought few ebay type packs, but looking for something like a web belt that holds a couple mags. In the event I don't have time to get dressed, I'd like something to have handy for 1911 mags, stuffing them in my underwear probably wouldn't work and I'd like the free hand.

Looking for suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I have one of those belly band style holster rig that velcros together. Not confortable at all but will work for your situation. Have the wife sew some mag holders on there and you are set.

That's a good thought. I have one of those Smartholsters for a small semi, the sight of me in my undies with a jockstrap looking holster strapped on might incapacitate a burglar without firing a shot!

I just grab the shotty.

During the week I wear 5.11 pants and I usually have one ready on a bench at the foot of the bed. Also, I have a pair of jeans in my closet. Both have belts looped through them so it's just a matter of putting them on. It doesn't take long to put them on. I one time had the fortune of finding out.

Shotty and Mini 14 are in the closet, just thinking about something to hang over neck or waist with an extra mag or two to tide me over.

My dog takes care of things that go bump in the night.

AR with 30 round mag next to bed.

How about a 5.11 Tactical PUSH Pack Shoulder Bag?

Instead of taking time to buckle a belt, just throw it over your shoulder.

That's a very cool idea, I believe they owe you a commission! I got shot in the Army and have a bad leg and I'm a little slow getting moving, that would be a nice way to do things.

PUSH BAGS-- "Practical Utility Shoulder Hold-all"

Very cool. I'm waiting for a very similar product from Maxpedition to arrive Monday. I didn't even think about using it that application. I just love more reasons to justify my gear habit ;)

If I have to worry where something bumping in the night is beyond 16 rounds from my G19 then it's time to move.

Hodawg 05-17-2014 09:52 AM

I just throw Mrs. Hodawg out into the hall. If the BG survives her, then I get serious and grab the shotty. :fencing:

Cheers y'all,
Ken

My bump in the night is night stand safe, G19, spare mag, small led flash light, and then scare them off as they see me nakked as a jaybird pointing a Glock at them :D

For anyone that's interested...

Today only, Tommy's Gun Packs has their Tactical Sling Bag on sale for $40.00.

That's a bit cheaper than the 5.11 bag and Tommy's stuff is build strong.

The belt idea is kinda neat. Imagine the look on the face when the see me wearing nothing but a super hero utility belt and a sawed off double barrel lol

Look up a Condor battle belt. As your important stuff can be mounted and ready for any emergency. Or if you want to spend a bunch of money get the Viking Battle Belt.

Bob I have researched both the Condor and Viking battle belts, built the same Viking Belts has Alan Lamb behind it, He owns Viking Tactics.

They make all kind of goodies from light mounts to apparel, He also worked with S&W on the design of the M&P VTAC.

IMHO Condor is just as good as the Viking, I have a Condor chest rig and love it.

bvkdphillips 06-05-2014 08:22 PM

I agree with you Ed on the Condor belt. It's also about 2/3rds cheaper than the Viking.

Bob
