New from gunsight training academy

Howdy Y'All

Yep it the local Cowboy REDSTONE RIDER with his other Hat on

With the announcement that the famous Gunsight training Academy has just adopted GLOCK as their basic gun to be used in training, I give you my latest update to one of my Glock 19 projects.

The gun is a Glock 19 lower with a new Ghost trigger system and an extended slide release. it is from the factory in OD Green (NOT PAINTED)

The slide is SS with front and rear sedations and a lower ejection port (puts shells out to the side not in your face)
The slide is Fail-Zero finished and left Matt
The barrel is from Lone Wolf and will take any round including Lead. With the high coast of bullets these day's it is cheeper to practice with Lead rounds.
The Barrel is also Fail-Zero finished and polished smooth.
The internals of the slide are SS guide rod with an 11# ISMI spring. The safety plunger is titanium along with the striker and has water proof caps on the striker .

The underside of the trigger has had relief to get rid of "Glock Finger" and all in all a nice fast gun to shoot.

This is what it looks like:

Star wars all over again! Thanks for posting.

Caleb 01-01-2014 01:07 PM

One way tp make the glock even uglier is to put ugly sites on it! I like the rest of the mods, though.

girphoto 01-01-2014 01:35 PM

Remember, sights are tools and the faster you can get them on target the faster you stay alive...
But thanks for the comments

it's ok RR, he's missing as fast as he can.

Caleb 01-01-2014 01:55 PM

In a SD situation, if you are using sites you are loosing precious seconds. Point shooting is on the menu, then. Sites are for precision work, ymmv.

skosh69 01-01-2014 02:04 PM

I can't believe I'm going to mutter these words...(gulping....clearing throat) but I kinda like the sights. Not only are they tacti-kewl, but I'm sure they have an actual functionality to them.

Now that GS has adopted the Block, I'll have to think of somewhere else to train.....

funny funny funny

Do I surmise that you have removed the sights from your Self Defense weapons to reduce weight, increasing your speed, as you don't use them anyway?

No, that would be silly. But, I did remove them from my ex-m&p for training purposes. I'm only talking 3-7 yards here, anuthing further i'm using the sights (if time permitted).

Have you tried point shooting, Col? You would be surprised how your npoa relates to where your eyes are looking. Have you seen milkman's video shooting 25yds no sights?

Caleb 01-01-2014 05:48 PM

Girphoto.......did you build this pistol?

girphoto 01-01-2014 05:50 PM

As a matter of fact, The American Handgun Magazine Jan/Feb 2014 just had an entire article ( about 6 pages) and cover on Glocks and the new sights.

So much for being first on the floor to do it.

Looks like a lot of tactical companies that customize Glocks are looking into these sights.

They are light weight and fast!

These sights are also going to be available for 1911's

When I put XS Big Dots on my carry guns, people looked and said WHAT!!!!, but I will tell you that as your yes get older you need all of the help you can get.

Now if you are competing in Steel Challenge or IPSC or Glock Matches this is the way to go. :D

I really like what you did with the slide, from the melt to the serrations....looks sick. Do you have a site with prices and services?

girphoto 01-01-2014 06:04 PM

Look back on the site and you should find images of the custom Race guns that I build on Glocks

New website with pricing is now under contraction.
Prices scan be quoted on a case by case basis

Thanks

Sweet Jesus guys.... This is is a Dan Wesson 1911 site. Do we really expect people to appreciate Glock enhancements?? Just sayin'...

girphoto 01-01-2014 08:25 PM

Since I have a dog in this fight, I thought this was a Gun/Shooting site....
We Have all guns from old SAA's to Long guns to very small guns.

This might have started off as a Dan Wesson 1911 site....But I was invited to join, and Now that one of the premier shooting academies has gone to Glock, and everyone is showing off their leather, grips, knives etc... I see no problem to showing off one of the best selling guns in the world.

Yes, I shoot 1911's and carry them, but they are not Dan Wesson's and they are all custom made.....

Does that mean they can not be on the site.......

IMHO
GaryR

DaFadda 01-01-2014 08:30 PM

And I own several glocks.... Which I like very very much. And I'll stand by my statement that this is primarily a 1911 dan wesson site and that we can't expect people to appreciate glock enhancements. Just sayin'

You're good. Padre is just pulling your chain since I'm not available to do it.

I like the muzzle brake that resembles that on a Barrett.

Question, what's with the one that has the biggo hook looking thingy hanging off the left side of the slide? Is that for easier cocking?

girphoto 01-01-2014 08:42 PM

No, that is the coffee machine pull lever...

Yes, it is a slide racker, so you do not have to keep on hitting the red dot

I hope this is not the gun chosen by "GUNSITE". That would be sacrilege!!!! The Col. would roll over in his grave.

girphoto 01-01-2014 08:55 PM

Right now they are using Glock 17's Stock.

Sheepdog 01-01-2014 09:02 PM

Who is using them? All I have seen is that they now offer a Glock in the Pro Shop. I can't see any of the instructors using them. If this is true Buzz has lost his mind. As Law enforcement agencies across the country are dumping Glock due to reliability issues.

girphoto 01-01-2014 09:08 PM

Big article in Combat Handguns latest issue

" GUNSITE GOES GLOCK"

How the Austrain wonder gun won over America's premier firearms training academy!

Sad....time to play Taps.

ColMike 01-02-2014 05:56 AM

At 3-7 yards, time is rapidly running out. From concealed carry, how long does it take you to be ready to pull the trigger? How long does it take an aggressor to cover 5 yards. As you say..ymmv

front and rear sedations
It's a Glock, its already boring. I didn't think you'd have to add sedation.

funny

Sheepdog 01-02-2014 08:15 PM

That is a great looking race gun, Gary. I have shot some Comp Glocks with amazing triggers.
