Here's my 625-8 that I started using for ESR in IDPA.
It has different grips now, I'll try to get a current pic when I get home in a day or two. Greg |
|
i guess i need to get on my home computer and post some pics. i had a 29-3 pre lock with an 8 3/8in barrel. i sold it though to fund my Heritage i bought from Sarge. im not a fan of the longer barreled pistols. :( i would have kept it if it were a 4" or less.

Marryin' and Buryin' gun.

That's one fine looking pistola Iggy!
|
Oh ya, Iggy.....that's nice.

Cal, that's one puuurdy 57.
It and a 25 are on my short list. Grizz |
gota love that pretty S&W blueing
|
Yes that blueing is pretty. My nickel has some finish marks from the display case deteriorating. I never was a real wheel gun guy until this one, had a Rossi because every one needs a 357. Then I shot a 27 and a python. Wow they used to make some really sweet looking sweet shooting pistols.

Here is my only S&W.
It is a Model 29-2, bought it from a very good friend for $300.00!! http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...20100926_6.jpg http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...20100926_5.jpg http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...0/DSC01877.jpg |

Here's my new to me S&W 29-3, 10 5/8" bbl, .44 Mag that my brother so generously gave me yesterday. He's had since it was new and he passed it down to me.
Now, I need to learn how to shoot, clean and maintain it. Right now, it makes a rattle noise around the grip/frame area when you hold it upside down and tip it back and forth. I took off the grips looked but saw nothing, is that normal? By itself... And with my unit patches and crests... Does having a S&W redeem myself any for having the Kimber???? |
The rattle you are hearing is probably the hammer block and is perfectly normal.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...derthehood.jpg It is the long piece with the loop at the bottom. Here is an entire thread about it on another forum. http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-rev...s-w-629-a.html |
Thanks for the info Iggy, I'll look into the thread!

While taking a break from loading .357 Mag ammo, I shot this pic of my 19-3 and my 1942 SA M1. The 19 is wearing Ahrends Retro Combat grips, and the M1 is (unfortunately) wearing modern, but pretty wood.

One thing about it, S&W has a gun for everyone.
|
Nice wood on the Garand Grizz, DGR?
|
Thanks for the gun and photo feedback. I might end up photographing the 19-3s together tonight.
I got the Garand from The Garand Guy. I'm not certain, but I think he uses Boyd's stocks. Grizz |
|
Boy oh boy that's a nice lookin' pair of 19's and a nice photo.
I just remembered I have a 42 vintage M-1 also. It's a year older than me and works better than I do. |
