Pet Peeve! Does anyone else have this?
Know what I Despise? I HATE when People do not Give a turn signal when they turn, or give on AFTER They turn, and don't give signal when changing lanes!
That "Thing" on the left of the steering wheel is there for this and it isn't Hard! Hey Phil, can you ticket that? I am sure you can! |
stay outta DFW metromess in Texas, then. They remove the blinkers at the dealership before they sell 'em there. People there can't drive a nail up a billygoat's ass. I saw cars actually stuck 15 foot up a TREE on I-20 and I-35. I was safer on the racetrack

Are you talking about BMW drivers again??? nannernanner

OMG....I hate this. I wish it was as easy as writing a person but it wouldn't change a damn thing.

You MUST be talkin about your fellow Prius peddelers. :bs: Smug little Di*k wads. I will admit to lane changing the paint off yer front bumper when I have to pass on the right because you think you own the fast lane even though you can't peddle that POS at the speed limit, and no you don't deserve a courtesy blink either. Keep that DAMN skateboard in the right lane!:D |

I only rode in a Prius 2x, once when my bosses wife drove me to the hospital for an eye burn and the other when my BIL gave me a ride to the dealership to get my car. Both times sucked. Couldn't talk smack to the bosses wife, but I talked so much crap to my BIL, he never offered to take me anywhere ever again. I hate Prius' and their owners more than any other. |

My BIL refers to Prius owners as "PIOUS" owners. They want the world to think they're all that and a bag o chips simply because they have purchased an overpriced car that will need $5000 worth of batteries five years down the road, negating any of the cost saving effects of lower gasoline usage. Add to that there is a huge cost to getting rid of the batteries in an environmentally friendly manner (although we could, concievably, drop them on the Mexican side of the border). Can't stand Prius'.....could you tell?

I really haven't given the Prius's much thought lately (not worth the effort) until last week when we were helping our son find a Camry. On the dealer's showroom floor I was looking for a Camry, but couldn't find one. But they did have a bunch of hideous looking cars all over the showroom.
Finally I was behind on of the hideous excuses for an automobile and saw "Prius" on the back. "No Wonder!" And it's not just me. Quote:

Where I come from (Connecticut)... they don't use the turn signal. They just point at you with one finger as they cut you off. |
When they look in their rear view mirror and all they can see is the BIG BLUEoval on the F-350 grille overcrowding their rear view mirror , blinker or not, they’ll squirm out of the way. ;)

When I moved here, it took a while to break me of the habit of using my turn signals. You want to quickly change lanes before the other drivers can cut you off. If you give any advance indication that you are going to change lanes, you will have a helluva time of doing so. Once they are on to you, then it become really tricky. The best strategy I've found is to floor it, then slam on the brakes and slip in behind them as they zoom past. (provided the next car back isn't in collusion it will usually open a slot) Yesterday I made the mistake of using the turn signal (old habits die hard) and I ended up having to floor it, slam on the brakes, and then floor it again. http://www.cotep.org/forum/picture.p...&pictureid=888 |
They've passed a law here wherein you have to signal 100 feet before changing lanes. Of course, with oil in the tank, so to speak, I haven't seen much enforcement.
Also, the non-signaling drivers seem to have drifted in from the north. |

The 5 and 7 series have packages but the M family (ground up) are in 2,3,4,6 and X's. Had a 03' M3 been in a 16 M4. An M3 is a rocket and an absolute blast to drive, (you can get into trouble real easy with it:D) The M4 is a FREEKIN heat seeking missile!!! (turning the key and you're in trouble) it fly's and it don't need wings. All BEEMERS are revlocked at 155, that being said in a M4 or 6 you can get there before you can get un puckered from the seat. I got to touch one of these once, ever since its been my dream car. Twin turbo V8 Dinan performance package NO options. 600hp / 0-60 3.6sec / 0- Rev limit in under 10sec. yes 155 in under 10 HOLY SH**T!!! Comes with road Velcro too.:D 6 Series Alpina B6 TT https://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/6series/alpinab6.html No they wouldn't let me sit in it. Guess they were afraid I might soil the seat or something... Sticker said $134,950.00 or a winning loto ticket...nanner |
I hate the turn signal thing, but what irks me more is when someone is turning, and the think they're in a semi truck and have to swerve toward the next lane over in order to make the turn. As if regular passenger cars and trucks are incapable of handling the normal turn radius of DOT-standard roadway design. You're not driving a friggin' tractor-trailer rig so stop pretending to. And when you swerve toward me in the next lane, you just about scare the crap out of me, so don't whine when I hit the horn.

I don't get the hate on the Prius. Whatever happened to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness if happiness is a Prius? If your happiness is an F350 rolling coal then roll on 'Murica! My happiness is driving my Insight and saving a ton of money on gas and insurance.
I have a Pilot and an Insight which is a close cousin (a much better looking cousin) of the Prius. I used to have a 325i that got 24 mpg and was paid for. I sold it, leased the Insight for $200/month. I lived in Miami and drove 50 miles to work 5 days a week. Gas was &4/gal. The Insight got 45-47mpg. So I was saving $8-9 a day in gas which was real close to the car payment. So essentially the car paid for itself in fuel savings. End of the lease I walked in and paid it off in cash. Best decision ever. 10 gallon fuel tank gets filled up once every 2-3 weeks. Then when you add the gas card coupon Publix runs every month that saves $10 off a $50 gas card our monthly gas bill for both cars is between $80-$100 a month. That may be a weeks worth of fuel for some of the trucks out there. Love my Insight, and more power to being able to have the freedom to pick whatever car/truck/motorcycle you want! That is MAGA! |
It's probably more about the owners than the car itself. Let's face it, someone who buys a car because they think they are saving the planet, and makes sure it is the FUGLIEST car on the road just so everyone will recognize it and know that the driver is a superior being and is looking down on the rest of us mere mortals...well, you get the rest...

Then have the unmitigated gall to glare at the drivers passing you on the right??:mob: I can honestly say I’ve never had a driver in an S500 pull this crap. When gas hit 4 bucks a gallon we to adjusted, swapped the M3 for a 323ci. Moved from 15-19 to 29-34 mpg and moved 20 miles closer to work. (That wasn’t the real reason, mama wanted pony property…) and it happen to be closer. No more M but still have a Beemer and it’s fun to drive. I can run the I5 corridor from Tacoma to Redding on a tank of gas (If I behave) in 8 hours and feel like I drove and not like I’ve been on a hamster wheel all day. The point is, it doesn’t matter what you drive as long as you apply the laws of common courtesy and sense. Keep right except to pass, if you’re passing everything in sight then stay left. Merge into an open spot in traffic don’t make traffic move for you whenever possible and we’ll all get along fine. That being said… To the 50 year old cottage cheese ass’d 3rd grade teacher in the red Prius. The next time you get on the freeway and just have to have the spot where my truck and trailer are. Then slow me down 10 mph on a hill because you think it’s too windy on my horses to go 60 with everybody else.” I WILL run you and your little red PIOUS over!” And park my 8800 pound Dodge RAM dually on your cheesy AZZ! Fair warning has been issued.nanner |
Hell no, I don't drive like that! I will run anyone off the road who drives like a self entitled prick no matter what you drive!
Also remember ther are always bigger fish in the sea. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y19...psgchnsgbd.jpg That was a Chevy Silverado Crew Cab that decided he needed to drive like a self-absorbed prick. Stupid know no boundaries or cares what you drive. |
I also love the double takes I get when the little blue Insight flys by and people notice the NRA stickers on the back! Wha?!??
