Followed me home

I just returned home from my LGS with a Kimber Mini 9, which I hope will be my EDC. With increasing arthritis and occasional neuropathy, :eek:I need a smaller EDC and 9mm is about as low as I am willing to go. I compared it to a Sig 938 and it is noticeably narrower.

I hope to get it to the range, weather permitting, in the next few weeks. :D

Nice! Hope it serves you well

Sweet! Good luck with it and look forward to a range report.

Nice!

Is that the one they call the "Solo"?

skosh69 01-27-2017 03:31 PM

Congrats. You have big cajones to admit you bought a Kimber with all the Kimber haters lurking.

I still want a SS Raptor.

Similar, but different, it's called the "Micro 9."

The "Solo" is a different Kimber.

I had a Sig 380 for pocket carry, but I passed it on to my son. I looked at the Sig 938, but the Kimber Micro 9, was on the shelf next to it and it looked narrower. I held both and liked the Kimber better. As Kimber is "Made in America" with the profits staying here, I am not to worried about what the "haters" think. Plus, I got the military/LE discount. Now to pick my cajones up off my ankles and get something from the kitchen to eat...

Not sure what or where the Kimber hating comes from. I have owned 4 different Kimber hand guns over the past 25 years and all were fine weapons, well built and gave faithful service. The two that I sold went for nearly what I paid new for them. One other I gifted to my son who loves it. I know some have had minor feed or extraction problems such as empty brass burns on the forehead :D but it appears that customer service is responsive and Kimber stands behind their products without the abusive crap at least one of the near custom made owners lays out on his buyers. Good purchase in my view Major. Shoot it in good health. It is a great little carry piece. Thanks for the post. Dennis

Nice! I got a 938 for pocket (Nad blaster) a while back because it was the only mini with hammer available. I like the looks of your mini, did it come with an extended mag so your pinky has a home? Can't wait for a range report.

DON'T step on those cajones!! That won't feel good at all.:eek:
Maybe an Ellison banana hammock would do the trick...nannernanner

Thanks. It only came with one magazine and a zippered carrying case. Extra mags are $25; $27 for the 7 rounders with the extension.

Kimber makes a fine weapon. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

The Kimber Brotherhood lives!!

Ok good, 'cause the Solo is a lemon (at least the first gen where).

The SS Raptor has got to be one of the best looking 1911 types out there, I even like the black one.
