First, it's an NBC news article, so that makes it questionable from the beginning. I'd like to see Fox or NewsmaxTV reporters interview the same people and see how it comes out.

Second, all due respect to the original inventor's family, I don't think their views on it matter. The AR-15 and it's common derivatives are "commonly owned," and attempting to ban them would be a direct infringement on our 2A rights.

I'm pretty sure Mr. Stoner would have objected to the media blather that an AR-15 was used by the Orlando shooter. It wasn't. Once again, the libtards show they don't care about facts or root causes.

Agreed. FTR, it was a SIG Sauer MCX. But that doesn't matter to the antis and the MSM. They know what they want to target and they're going to put it out there for the "sheeples..." the people they hope/expect will suck it all in like the Gospel Truth. They know that all they have to do is say "AR-15, AR-15, AR-15" and "ASSAULT WEAPON, ASSAULT WEAPON, ASSAULT WEAPON" as much as they can, and, eventually, the "sheeples" will believe them.

We have to be just as diligent with our media presence as well. We need to fight for the attention of those sheeples and the legislators for whom they vote. The liberal MSM has a stranglehold on them, now. We need to break that hold, and get them on our side.

I'm glad I've got all I need in the black rifle category because this go round could be really bad ... like Clinton '94 or worse.

We need to talk about violence. Not gun violence. Put "gun" in the sentence and the focus changes from the perpetrator to the weapon.

If someone were to hack up people with a machete, would the press talk about "machete violence"?!!

Which is precisely why the antis/MSM use that word. It's their "button" word. Push that button on the "sheeples" as much as possible to grind the message in. We have to be just as smart and push other buttons on those sheeples.

It has started. I'm in the process of closing a deal for a new beautiful house. While the inspector is doing his thing I'm chatting with the nice owner, old lady. He finishes, gives us the quick scope of things, all good. I stay a little longer, we move the discussion to the shooting and she brings the question "why do civilians need military weapons". I schooled her in the most polite and assertive way I could. Explained to her about deadlier weapons dressed in wood furniture, talked about my past in Chile and the dictator general Pinochet and how thousands were tortured and killed by their own military/government. Blah blah. I think I left her really rethinking her position.

But like I said, the media brainwashing has started and I'm sad to say that if hillary wins, and also under Trump possibly, we'll have a reinstated AWB with no sunset.

I do hope Trump (if we can get him elected) makes good on his promise to us and the NRA "not to let us down..." or it's :mob: with him! :mad:

Hate it as we might, I believe many of us could suffer a renewed AWB. It's wholesale turn-in's/confiscations that has me worried. I'm concerned things could be much worse this time around.
