Something a little different - but I like it!
I don't know very much about this dagger; the Maker's name is D. A. Horne; supposedly from Oklahoma City; from what I've heard he made about 400 or so knives. Here's a Celtic Pattern Dagger with a wood sheath. This picture doesn't do the knife justice; there is engraving on the blade on both sides...

^^ Interesting, don't see wood sheaths often

Just checking in for the latest and greatest ......

I seem to have fallen behind in posting; so here's Day 25, 26, and 27:
Day 25 This is a "named" WWII Theater Knife. It has the maker's name and service number; I was able to find out he joined the Army Air Corps from Wisconsin, served in the Pacific, and is buried in Wisconsin. I have a few WWII Theater Made Knives but this one is the only "named" knife: http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...wwii_knife.jpg Day 26 another Canadian Knife Maker's knife by Steve Vanderkolff. This is a Damascus blade with Tulip wood handle and mosaic pins. It is a long slender knife; with a leather sheath: http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...lff_dagger.jpg http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...f_sheathed.jpg Day 27 Ed Kalfayan Searles Bowie: http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...arls_bowie.jpg |
^^^ Awesome !!
Anyone heard from C lyde, as much as he likes knives I'd of thought FOR SURE he'd be in here checking these out .... |
