You have a helluva collection.....very cool....

I'm looking for a fighting Bowie that doesn't break the bank. Something in the 10- to 12-inch blade length for less than $200. Right now the Cold Steel Natchez Bowie is the only one that has a good reputation in that size and price range.

I don't have the money to go to the custom market yet. Maybe one day.

Talk to Teeter on that other forum. He is becoming a knife builder, or already is one, or is a receptionist at a diner...I don't know, but contact him.

He and I have talked. I've laid claims to his fourth knife. After Brownie gets the third.

Some nice blades. If you're planning on starting custom blades, be prepared to spend some money. My primo blade today, is worth over $700.00. I had to stop collecting customs when I retired, can't afford it anymore.

I want a Bill Bagwell Bowie. That will cost around $2500. He's got a several years wait now.

I've got a Bowie made by Hal Solum, it's made from a Harley primary chain.

I like sharp objects. The sheath on the Perrin is tuckable so I carry that whenever. The commodore sheath isn't so I usually only carry the H&R when I'm dressed casually.

The Kershaw is always in my pocket.

Awesome stuff Edgehill, I really love the H&R! What does something like that cost? and I am seeing that Panther Concealment has made a really nice sheath for it! I had to sell my Perrin with a Panther Concealment sheath a while back, the buyer graciously said I could buy it back, but it has been tough trying to set the funds aside again, maybe/hopefully someday if he is still cool with it.

I use the CRKT Minimalist line pretty much exclusively, but the blade is not quite as long as your looking for... (2") But mine are usually strictly for SD purposes, and obviously last ditch...

My favorite is the Bowie which is shown in the link above, but they also have a Tanto blade, a Wharncliffe style, and a new Keramin style seen here at my favorite online knife shop:

http://www.cutleryshoppe.com/crkt238...dedsheath.aspx

I have them all except for the Keramin, great neck knife IMO! Just shop around as prices vary greatly, and most of the versions can be had for under 20.00

Sorry for the sidetrack here!

I got the H&R at a gun show for a little less than $80. The Panther Sheath is based on the Southern Comfort sheaths so they have to charge a little more than normal for it. It cost $100. But it's worth it. I carried it all day yesterday.

Wouldn't doubt it for a second! Thanks Edgehill!
