Speaking of word disfunction, my mom me that when she was a child, she told here little brother she was going to tell their mon that he was masticating on the front pouch. He ran in and started yelling "I wasn't masticating, I wasn't"

My grandparents lost it.

Check out sgm grips.com he just made, and shipped today a pair of slim Vipers for my CCO. Was originally going to have him make slim Coco Bolo double diamonds in Ed Brown orangish color. Hit me up the end of week and I can tell you what I think of them.

A learning project

Well, it was a very warm and boring Saturday Apr 25, so just having located a project .45 (1911 of course) my friend Max and I headed out to meet the seller of said piece. I'll post some photos as soon as I can of the finished project. ("I built it, test fired it and it jammed so I decided to sell it.) The story went. Well, if it was test fired, it's a miracle it fired at all.

I acquired the jammed pistol after field stripping and verifying it was all there and headed home. All...

Winter Fun Shoot

We had a little winter reopening shoot at my club today. Kid's had a competition shooting some silhouettes and playing card targets. The bigger kids tried to shoot some playing card in half edge on. I shot mine with a S&W Model 52. Took me 4 shots.

The Rock Island .45

Sometime around May 2011 I finally purchased my first 1911. My love affair with this model pistol began probably in the 50's when I would play "Army" and had many comic books with soldiers using the 1911 .45 in combat scenes.*

Fast forward to 1964 and my entry into the U.S. Navy and an eventual revival of the love affair. Over a 26 year career, I became very familiar with J.M.B.'s mechanical marvel and though being a family man, (broke)...
